Lifting doors for your systems

Anyone planning systems needs safe access points that fit smoothly into the process. A lifting door should do more than just open and close. It should secure the process, prevent downtimes and be precisely controllable. Klefinghaus offers tried and tested solutions for this. Everything is possible, from the compact standard version to the customised lifting door. Each variant fulfils a clear function and adapts precisely to the respective system environment.

Sound-insulated
lifting door

Schallgedämmte Hubtür

pneumatisch pneumatically driven

If it gets loud, simply close the door. This is the principle behind the Klefinghaus sound-insulated lifting door. It lowers the noise level where machines are working at high noise levels. The multi-layer structure significantly reduces noise pollution. And like all our lifting doors, it works reliably, safely and with the quality you can rely on.

Was ist eine Hubtür?

What is a lifting door?

A lifting door protects the area in front of the machine and opens it up again when required. It moves vertically upwards and requires no space to the side. This is particularly useful where space is tight or work areas need to remain open. In contrast to fixed partitions or side-opening doors, access remains easily accessible at all times. Nothing stands in the way, no components protrude into the work area.

How it moves and what it can do

The movement runs along a fixed guide and always ends at the same point. Depending on the application, the lift door is operated electrically, pneumatically or manually. During operation, it holds back foreign objects, prevents tampering and protects against malfunctions. At the same time, it can be opened quickly when workpieces need to be inserted or systems need to be serviced. It is therefore an integral part of the safety and operating logic of modern machines.

How are lifting doors constructed?

The structure of every lifting door follows a clear principle: stability, guidance and safe movement. The basic structure is an aluminium frame with defined fixing points. The door surface runs vertically upwards along a precise guide. Depending on the application, the surfaces are made of transparent plastic, aluminium or heat-resistant sheet metal. The door is driven by a FESTO cylinder or an electric motor with spindle or rack. Both variants can be precisely controlled and integrated into the machine logic.

Safety included

Sensors reliably report whether the door is open or closed. The system reacts accordingly and prevents unwanted starts. Limit switches, safety edges or light grids can be integrated. All components are durable, easy to maintain and can be replaced quickly if necessary.

Wie sind Hubtüren aufgebaut?
Pneumatisch oder elektrisch? Sie haben die Wahl.

Pneumatic or electric? The choice is yours.

There are two drive types available for the lifting movement: pneumatic or electric. Both variants can be safely controlled and integrated into the system process. The pneumatic drive reacts quickly, works reliably and is particularly suitable for high cycle rates. If compressed air is already available in production, the lift door can be integrated directly into the system. Electric drives are particularly quiet and precise. They do not require compressed air and save energy in continuous operation. This variant is also often advantageous for long lifting distances or confined installation spaces. Which drive type is most suitable depends on your application. Klefinghaus will support you and ensure smooth integration into the control and safety technology.

Where lifting doors come into their own

When machines need to be protected but still easily accessible, lifting doors come into play. They separate safely, can be controlled precisely and can be opened again quickly when required. In CNC machining centres, they enable workpieces to be changed quickly. The door moves upwards, leaving access free. No sash gets in the way, no components are in the way. At the same time, the closed door protects against chips, coolant or moving parts.

Where lifting doors are particularly useful

They also fulfil important tasks in automated lines. They separate cycle areas, secure robot cells and prevent tampering during operation. They also improve ergonomics in assembly systems. The door can be opened without effort and precisely controlled.
In test benches or special machines, lifting doors provide safety during changing processes. Their compact design and simple integration also make them interesting for retrofitting.

  • Machine panelling in machining, assembly and testing technology
  • Robot cells in automated production lines
  • Laser protection areas and welding cells
  • Systems with limited space or high cycle frequency
  • Inspection and test stands in special machine construction
  • Production lines with ergonomic requirements

How to choose the right lifting door

Which lifting door is right for your system? This question usually arises as early as the planning phase. It's not just about dimensions and installation position, but also about the control system, power supply and safety logic. If you systematically clarify these points, you will usually find the right lifting door.

How much space is available?

It is not only the size of the opening that is decisive, but also the space for the guide, operator and safety. Compact variants such as mini-lift doors or special shapes are used in tight spaces.

In which direction should the door move?

As standard, the door moves vertically upwards. In the case of structural restrictions or special sequences, horizontal movement can also be useful.

How quickly should the door open and close?

A pneumatic drive has the advantage for high cycle times. For precise, quiet movements or longer distances, an electric drive is recommended.

What safety functions are required?

Light grids, safety edges or limit switches can be integrated depending on the application. Doors with special features and materials are available for welding or laser protection.

How is the door controlled?

Depending on the control concept, the lift door must have suitable interfaces and feedback signals. Klefinghaus supplies ready-to-connect systems with pre-configured electronics, tested components and customised control logic.

What makes Klefinghaus lifting doors special

Klefinghaus has been manufacturing lifting doors for industrial applications for over 25 years. The systems are designed for durability, safety and simple integration. Each lifting door is manufactured in-house. Klefinghaus delivers them pre-assembled, tested and ready for connection. These features ensure that our lifting doors are convincing in practice:

FESTO Inside

FESTO and Klefinghaus have been partners for over 50 years. Klefinghaus has consistently relied on cylinders from FESTO for pneumatic lifting doors since 1962. These components stand for reliability, precision and a long service life. They can be precisely controlled, fit neatly into existing compressed air systems and ensure that the door moves smoothly. The result is a system that is technically well thought out and functions reliably during operation.

Plug & Work

The Plug & Work principle saves time during installation and makes commissioning easier. Klefinghaus supplies each door completely pre-assembled, electrically tested and ready for connection. The connection cable is ten metres long and the pneumatic connection complies with the QS-8 standard. All components are prepared so that they can be connected directly to your control system. This minimises the work involved, even for special designs.

Safety ex works

At Klefinghaus, safety is part of the basic equipment. Depending on the design, your lift door is supplemented with safety edges, limit switches, light grids or position sensors. All components work together precisely and fulfil the requirements of EN ISO 12100. Many systems are already pre-tested, which facilitates acceptance and ensures clear processes during integration.

Durable and easy to maintain

Klefinghaus lifting doors are designed for long-term use in industry. The robust guide ensures that the door can be moved easily.

Work energy efficiently

Saving energy starts with the right choice of drive. Klefinghaus offers you both variants: electric or pneumatic - the choice is yours. Electric drives work quietly, can be finely controlled and noticeably reduce consumption in continuous operation. Pneumatic systems use existing compressed air networks and fit seamlessly into the existing infrastructure. In both cases, only as much energy is used as is actually required for the respective stroke.

Special solutions can be realized quickly

Klefinghaus also develops suitable lifting doors when the installation is complex. Hood, angle or corner doors are created on the basis of your requirements and are fitted precisely into your design. The modular design saves time in planning and enables short reaction times in production. Each door is designed to work reliably and fit into your system without any effort. This also applies to special dimensions or tight installation spaces.

Install, connect, operate safely

Lifting doors from Klefinghaus arrive pre-assembled, tested and ready for connection. They are prepared so that you can start installing them straight away. This saves time, reduces sources of error and ensures that your system is quickly ready for operation again.

Installation and commissioning

Installation should be quick and reliable. This is exactly what every Klefinghaus lifting door is designed for. The frame fits exactly in the intended position, while the side guide for the door movement is pre-assembled and ready for use. Depending on the version, you connect the electric drive or the pneumatic cylinder directly. All cables and connections are designed so that no reworking is necessary. The sensors are pre-set and the door stops automatically at the designated end points. Once connected, the system responds immediately to the control signal and you can test the function straight away. If you require support, a Klefinghaus technician will be on hand to assist you. Support can be provided by telephone or directly on site.

Maintenance and legal security

Klefinghaus recommends an annual inspection to ensure that your lift door works reliably over the long term. The new control box contains a lift counter that uses a coloured LED to indicate when maintenance is due. All operating data can be read out via the RS232 interface. On request, the Klefinghaus service team can carry out maintenance at your premises. The technicians check the mechanics, sensors and controls, replace wearing parts if necessary and document all steps. In this way, you simultaneously fulfil the requirements of DIN EN ISO 12100 for risk assessment and functional checks.
