From the start as a tool retailer to an established industrial partner.

It all began in 1938. Back then, KLEFINGHAUS started out as a small tool retailer in the tranquil town of Lüdenscheid. A lot has happened since then. Today, more than eight decades later, the company has developed into a successful medium-sized business. More than 40 employees now work at the Lüdenscheid site. KLEFINGHAUS is known for its expertise in the fields of pneumatics, automation, mechanical engineering, compressed air systems, lifting door construction and control technology.

Milestones in a dynamic history

1938 - 1952

After its foundation in 1938 by Carl Klefinghaus, the company grew continuously and built the business premises in Gartenstraße in 1952. The addition of machine tools to the sales programme marked the first major step towards expanding the product range. With the economic miracle of the 1950s, KLEFINGHAUS was also able to grow further.

1962 - 1969

In 1962 Klefinghaus took over an agency from FESTO, which marked the beginning of a long-term and successful partnership. This cooperation led to specialisation in pneumatics and compressed air generation and the establishment of an in-house service department in 1969.

1980 - 1986

The 1980s brought significant changes: in 1980 the company moved into the new company building in Kerkhagen, and in 1985 it expanded its product range through a partnership with BOGE. One year later, in 1986, the co-operation with Item began, which further diversified the product range.

1997

In 1997, an important restructuring of the product and service portfolio took place, which focussed the company more strongly on pneumatics, mechanical engineering systems and control technology.

2012 - 2018

In 2012, Klefinghaus celebrated a significant company anniversary: 75 years in business and 50 years as a FESTO partner. This anniversary emphasised the company's long-standing presence and continued success in the industry. The continuous expansion of the product range and the introduction of innovative products underpin this position. One example of this is the LED workstation lights, which were introduced in 2018 and continue to keep Klefinghaus at the forefront of technological development.
