Lifting doors for your systems

Anyone planning systems needs safe access points that integrate smoothly into the process. A safety door should do more than just open and close. It should secure the process, allow safe access in conjunction with the control system and be precisely controllable. Klefinghaus offers proven solutions for this. From the compact standard version to the individually configured lifting door, everything is possible. Each variant fulfils a clear function and adapts precisely to the specific requirements of your plant.

Standard
Lifting door

Standard Lifting door

pneumatic pneumatically driven
electricallyelectrically driven
manuallymanually driven

The standard lifting door is the classic solution and ideal for use in a wide range of machines and systems. It opens vertically upwards or, optionally, pneumatically or manually downwards, saves space and can be easily integrated into the control system. Klefinghaus supplies the lifting door pre-assembled so that you can install it without much effort and use it immediately.

Double
Lifting door

Doppelte Lifting door

pneumatic pneumatically driven

Two door leaves, two directions of travel. The double lifting door opens upwards and downwards. Compared to the standard lifting door, the double lifting door offers a lower structure above the opening area. To make this possible, the double lifting door moves both upwards and downwards. This is particularly suitable for machines and systems that require a low overall height.

Sound-Insulated
Lifting door

Schallgedämmte Lifting door

pneumatic pneumatically driven
electricallyelectrically driven
manuallymanually driven

When things get noisy, just close the door. This is the principle behind the sound-insulated lifting door from Klefinghaus. It reduces the noise level where machines operate at high noise levels. The multi-layer construction significantly reduces noise pollution and, like all our lifting doors, it operates reliably and safely.

Horizontal
Lifting door

Horizontal Lifting door

pneumatic pneumatically driven
electricallyelectrically driven

The horizontal lifting door opens horizontally in the middle to the right and left. This saves valuable space at the top and is suitable, for example, for machines and systems with low overall height requirements or special installation positions. The horizontal lifting door moves on a compact rail system. The drive is either pneumatic or electric.

What is a lifting door?

What is a lifting door?

Lifting doors come into play when operators or areas need to be protected from machines and systems while still remaining easily accessible. They provide a secure barrier, can be controlled precisely and can be quickly reopened when needed.

What it can do and how it movest

Depending on the application, the lifting door is operated electrically, pneumatically or manually. During operation, it keeps out foreign objects, prevents interference and protects the operator. At the same time, it can be opened quickly when access to the interior of a system is required. It is therefore an integral part of the safety and operating logic of modern machines.

The movement runs along a fixed guide and always ends at the same point. Compared to a hinge solution, it moves within its own contours and therefore does not require any additional space in the operator area. This means that access remains easily accessible at all times. This is particularly useful in confined spaces or where work areas need to remain accessible.

How are lifting doors constructed?

The design of every lifting door follows a clear principle: stability, guidance and safe movement. The basic framework is formed by an item aluminium profile frame. The door surface runs along a precise guide.

Depending on the application, the surfaces are made of transparent polycarbonate, aluminium, composite material, sheet metal or your desired material.

The drive is provided by a Festo cylinder or an electric servo motor. Both variants can be precisely controlled and integrated into the machine logic.

Alternatively, the lifting door can also be operated manually.

Safety included

Safety included

Sensors reliably indicate whether the door is open or closed. The system can then respond accordingly, protecting the operator and the area in front of the system. Depending on the type of lifting door, Safety edge strips or a mechanical fall protection device provide additional protection for the operator while the lifting door is moving.

Additional safety technology, such as light grids, can of course be integrated at your request

All components are durable, easy to maintain and can be replaced quickly if necessary.

Pneumatic, electric or manual?
The choice is yours..

Three drive types are available for the lifting movement: pneumatic, electric or manual.

Pneumatically and electrically driven lifting doors can be controlled safely and integrated into the plant process.

The pneumatic drive reacts quickly, works reliably and is particularly suitable for high cycle rates. If a compressed air connection is already available, the lifting door can be integrated directly into the system. If required, we will be happy to advise you on a compressed air solution that meets your requirements.

Electric drives run particularly quietly and precisely. They do not require compressed air and save energy in continuous operation.

Manual lifting doors can be operated by hand. They are easy to move manually thanks to coordinated counterweights. Only the safety switches are integrated into the system control.

The most suitable drive type depends on your application. Klefinghaus will be happy to assist you in making your decision and ensure smooth integration into your system or machine.

Pneumatic, electric or manual? The choice is yours.

Where lifting doors show their strengths

Compared to a hinged solution, lifting doors move within their own contours and therefore do not require any additional space in the operator area.

In CNC machining centres, they enable quick workpiece changes. The door opens, allowing access. At the same time, the closed door protects against chips, coolant or moving parts.

Lifting doors also fulfil important tasks in automated lines. They separate cycle areas, protect the operator and the area in front of the lifting door, and prevent interference during operation.

n test benches or special machines, lifting doors offer safety during changing processes. Their compact design and easy integration also make them interesting for retrofitting.

Where lifting doors are particularly useful

  • Separating protective devices
  • Machine enclosures in machining, assembly and testing technology
  • Robot cells in automated production lines
  • Laser protection areas and welding cells
  • Testing and inspection stands in special machine construction

How to choose the right lifting door

Which lifting door is right for your system? This question usually arises during the planning phase. It is not just a matter of dimensions and installation position, but also of control, power supply and safety requirements. If you systematically clarify these points, you will find the lifting door that suits your requirements.

What type of lifting door do I need?

Depending on your application, there are various requirements for your lifting door. Klefinghaus already offers a range of solutions that cover a wide variety of requirements. We are also happy to work with you to meet requirements that go beyond our existing lifting door solutions. Whether you need to adapt an existing lifting door solution or require a tailor-made special solution, please do not hesitate to contact us.

In which direction should the lifting door open?

As standard, the door moves vertically up or down. In the case of structural restrictions or special processes, a double or horizontal movement may also be useful.

What type of drive should be installed?

There are three types of drives available for the lifting movement: pneumatic, electric or manual. Depending on the application, the different variants play to their strengths. A pneumatic drive is advantageous for high cycle rates. An electric drive is ideal for precise and quiet movements.

How much space is available?

Not only the size of the opening is decisive, but also the space required for guidance, drive and safety. Both the requirements for the overall dimensions of the lifting door and the desired opening range must be taken into account.

Which safety functions are necessary?

A safety edge or fall protection device is installed as standard, depending on the drive type. All lifting door types are supplied with sensors as standard, which check the closed or open status. Additional safety technology, such as light grids, can be integrated on request. For special applications such as welding or laser protection, doors with special equipment and material selection are available.

How is the door controlled?

Klefinghaus supplies ready-to-connect systems. Depending on the type of drive, the lifting door has preconfigured electronics, tested components and coordinated control logic. Once connected, your control system supplies the signals for door movement.

We are happy to assist you with your selection in person or through our configurator.

Each lifting door is manufactured in-house. Klefinghaus delivers them pre-assembled, tested and ready for connection. These features ensure that our lifting doors are convincing in practice:

FESTO Inside

FESTO and Klefinghaus have been partners for over 50 years. Klefinghaus has consistently relied on cylinders from FESTO for pneumatic lifting doors since 1962. These components stand for reliability, precision and a long service life. They can be precisely controlled, fit neatly into existing compressed air systems and ensure that the door moves smoothly. The result is a system that is technically well thought out and functions reliably during operation.

Plug & Work

The Plug & Work principle saves time when connecting to your system and makes commissioning easier. Klefinghaus delivers every door completely pre-assembled, tested and ready for connection. The standard connection cable is five metres long and the pneumatic connection complies with the QS-8 standard. All components are prepared so that they can be connected directly to your control system. This keeps the effort involved low, even for special designs.

Safety ex works

At Klefinghaus, safety is part of the basic equipment. Sensors reliably indicate whether the door is open or closed. Depending on the type of lifting door, a safety edge or a mechanical fall protection device provides additional protection for the operator while the lifting door is moving. Additional safety technology, such as light grids, can be integrated at your request. All components work together precisely and meet the requirements of DIN EN ISO 12100. Many systems are pre-tested, which facilitates acceptance and ensures clear processes during integration.

Durable and easy to maintain

Klefinghaus lifting doors are designed for long-term use in industry. The robust guide ensures that the door can be opened and closed easily. All components are easily accessible and can be replaced quickly in the event of maintenance. If you want to ensure long-term functionality, you can use the Klefinghaus maintenance service.

Energy-efficient operation

Saving energy starts with choosing the right drive. Klefinghaus offers three options: pneumatic, electric or manual – the choice is yours. Pneumatic systems use existing compressed air networks and integrate seamlessly into the existing infrastructure. Electric drives operate quietly, can be finely adjusted and noticeably reduce energy consumption in continuous operation. In both cases, only as much energy is used as is actually required for the respective lift. Manual lifting doors rely on the muscle power of their operators. The built-in counterweights keep the effort required to a minimum.

Special solutions can be implemented quickly

Klefinghaus develops suitable lifting doors even when installation is complex. Customised designs are created based on your requirements and are precisely tailored to your construction. The modular design saves time in planning and enables short response times in production. Each door is designed to work reliably and fit effortlessly into your system. This also applies to special dimensions or limited installation spaces. We manufacture your solution to the millimetre, exactly as you need it.

Install, connect, operate safely

Lifting doors from Klefinghaus arrive at your premises pre-assembled, tested and ready for connection. They are prepared so that you can start installation immediately. The pre-assembled lifting door fits exactly into the intended location. Installation is quick and reliable. This is exactly what every lifting door from Klefinghaus is designed for. This saves time, reduces sources of error and ensures that your system is quickly ready for operation.

Depending on the model, you connect the lifting door directly to your control system and its pneumatic or electrical connection. All cables and connections are designed so that no reworking is necessary. The sensors are pre-set, and the door stops automatically at the designated end points. Once connected, the lifting door responds immediately to the control signal, and you can test the function right away.

If you require assistance, a Klefinghaus technician will be happy to help. Support can be provided by telephone or directly at your premises.

Install, connect, operate safely
Maintenance and legal certainty

Maintenance and legal certainty

To ensure that your lifting door continues to function reliably, Klefinghaus recommends an annual inspection. On request, the Klefinghaus service team will carry out maintenance at your premises. The technicians check the mechanics, sensors and controls, replace worn parts if necessary and document all steps. This also ensures that you meet the requirements of DIN EN ISO 12100 for risk assessment and functional testing.
